The New York Daily News reports the prinicpal of a Bronx Catholic School is a white supremacist. Frank Borzellieri was promoted to principal of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in 2009 where Black and Latino students are the majority.
The white supremacist states “diversity is a weakness” in his 2004 book “Don’t Take It Personally: Race, Immigration, Crime and Other Heresies.” He also states the incline of the Black and Latino population in America will lead to a “New Dark Age.”
The Daily News also reports he wrote for the white supremacist publication American Renaissance who, according the Southern Poverty Law Center, is still “intimately involved” with.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel needed pastor, Rev. Eric Rapaglia, who hired the white the supremacist stated “‘Do I agree with all of it? No. But I think much of it is valuable and logical and reasonable. A lot of his ideas would actually benefit minorities.”
Here are some of those ideas:
As a city school board member representing District 24 in Queens from 1993 to 2002, Borzellieri tried to ban literature he labeled “anti-American” from school libraries. One of the books he targeted was an biography on the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
He also introduced a resolution calling for students to be taught that U.S. culture is superior, and he advocated the removal of an openly gay teacher from the classroom at Public School 199 in Sunnyside.
It is just plain lunacy to hire a white supremacist to lead a school who obviously discriminates and is trying to push his raical ideaology on the board. In my opinion, everyone involved in Borzellieri’s hiring is a bigot.
