Rand Paul “Evolves:” Now the Tea Party Is All About Immigration

This is just bizarre. CNN published advanced remarks from Kentucky Senator Rand Paul (R), one of the country’s Tea Party voices. Here is what Paul plans to say tonight about immigration:

“We are the party that embraces hard work and ingenuity, therefore we must be the party that embraces the immigrant who wants to come to America for a better future,” the Kentucky Republican is expected to say in the “tea party response” to Obama’s State of the Union address, according to an advanced text acquired by CNN. “We must be the party who sees immigrants as assets, not liabilities. We must be the party that says, ‘If you want to work, if you want to become an American, we welcome you.’”

Guess the U.S. Latino vote is making a difference. However, where was Paul at Tea Party rallies that would have rather criminalized the undocumented? See the following picture below. That is just one of many examples. Paul sure seemed quiet about that until AFTER the November election.

The Tea Party has always been against Latinos. They are mainly seeking votes. Obama urged Congress to make government work for "the many". http://t.co/q98steUf

That is such a generic statement that I don't even know if it is worth discussing.  I mean how many times have you heard somebody say, "I am for immigration, legal immigration."  Everybody knows where the score stands and with who.  I honestly don't think that many people in Congress could pass a 101 test on actual immigration law and visa allocation.
