Facebook Clip of Elvis Presley Singing ‘Guadalajara’ Goes Crazy Viral

Who says the power of Elvis Presley is not strong? The following video, posted just a few days ago on the Facebook page of the Federación Jalisco del Norte de California, has gotten close to 2 million views.

As you can imagine, the social media reactions range from bizarre WTF incredulity to celebration to outright anger, although we need to share a few of our favorite comments:

“Fucking just ruined a classic Mexican song.”

“Which language was that?”

“It hurts to watch and even worse to listen.”

Then there is this one:

“Fun in Acapulco (1963) I have it on DVD! lol”

And yes, that is where this clip comes from: Fun in Acapulco, 97 minutes of pure Elvis. Oh, the 60s.

Sexism! Racism! Appropriation!
