Don’t Get Too Excited: White House Already Nixed Trump’s Comments to Cancel PR Debt

We know that a lot of you got skeptically excited after seeing President Trump tell Geraldo Rivera on Tuesday that “we’re going to have to wipe that out,” when Geraldo asked about Puerto Rico’s debt.

As expected, Trump’s comments were just fake news because the day after Trump said them, White House budget Mick Mulvaney killed everyone’s buzz. No bailout. No cancellation of debt. Let’s worry about Wall Street.

And by the way, Mulvaney is also worried about how the media is covering the “bad stuff” about Puerto Rico.
