Earlier this week, New York Magazine featured the story of Triste (Henry), a Salvadoran teenager who became an ICE informant but is now being threatened by MS-13. Henry’s story was also published by ProPublica. As the Hannah Drier’s lede said, “Henry thought that talking to the cops would help him escape MS-13. Instead, it put his life in even more danger.”

Now, Henry’s legal team has set up a GoFundMe to protect him from the gang.

As immigration lawyer (and LR contributor) Bryan Johnson wrote:

This fund, set up by his immigration lawyer, is to assist Triste to relocate somewhere safe, whether he is deported or allowed to stay in the United States.

He is at serious risk of being killed by MS-13 both in El Salvador and in Long Island, New York.

Please help stop this teen’s senseless murder.

Johnson has also provided this update:

Hi all,

Thank you so much for your kind support.

Today is Henry’s final hearing on his request for asylum

Wish us luck.

I will provide update on the outcome later today or tomorrow morning at the latest.

Thank you again,

–Bryan S. Johnson, Esq. (Henry’s immigration lawyer.)

The fund is asking for $20,000 and as of this post, close to $3,000 has been raised.
