We are pretty sure that you might have missed this Wednesday story from the Tennessean. According to the outlet, Republican state Rep. Jay Reedy had no problem using the term “wetback” during a House Finance, Ways & Means subcommittee debate about a Tennessee bill that would “would ban sanctuary cities in Tennessee and require local law enforcement to detain certain immigrants.”

“During discussion of the bill, which was ultimately recommended to move to the full committee,” the Tennessean story continued, “Reedy told a story dating back to his junior high school years in Idaho.” In his storytelling, Reedy used the term “wetback” a couple of times.

This is the clip:

The Tennessean also reported that Reedy has yet to explain why he said what he said. Read the full story here.
