Last Night @SpikeLee Tweets Out Apology to Elderly Sanford Couple Affected By His Zimmerman Tweets

Last night, after facing a social media firestorm (which are becoming more and more common these days) for twice retweeting the incorrect address of George Zimmerman last week on Twitter, Spike Lee tweeted out an apology to the Sanford couple that was affected by their address being shared publicly on Twitter. This is what Spike's timeline shows this morning (notice the racist comment right before Spike's apology).


Reports also say that Lee reached a settlement agreement with the couple.

In the meantime, @MACCAPONE, the person who originated the tweet that contained the incorrect address, has also apologized and said he was going to write a personal letter of apology to the McClain family:
