As it tries to reach its Kickstarter goal by this weekend, a new documentary film highlighting the US Latino vote received a matching pledge from actor activist Eva Longoria.

Longoria told POLITICO the following:

Everyone talks about ‘the Latino vote’ as if it is this simple, well defined, easily described phenomenon,” Longoria told POLITICO in an email. “The reality is that this community is broad and diverse and has only just begun to exercise its true political power. This film will help America understand the nature of that power.

A lot of attention has been paid to the role of Latino’s in electing President Obama, but that election is really only the very beginning of the influence that our community is going to have on American politics and in shaping the future of this country.
