On Sunday morning, members of “Somos los otros NY,” a New York-based group that continues to shed light on Ayotzinapa, posted a video on its Facebook page, showing Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto as he left his hotel in New York City, while protesters greeted him with shouts of “asesino” (“murderer”). Peña Nieto, one of the world leaders attending the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, continues to face growing unpopularity in Mexico, particularly for how his government has mishandled the Ayotzinapa investigation. The “Somos los otros NY” video has gotten over 344,000 views in the last 24 hours. According to the group, it will also protest a Monday morning appearance by Peña Nieto at the UN.
