Latino Teacher (and Councilmember) in California Slammed for Viral Video of Anti-Military Remarks

In case you missed it this week, there is some shit going down in Pico Rivera, California. Here are some local report about what happened to Gary Salcido, a teacher at El Rancho High School and a Pico Rivera city councilmember:

This is the Facebook link to the original video, as reported by local media. The video was secretly recorded by a student on school grounds.

Salcido has also been put on administrative leave. This is what the Whittier Daily News reported about what Salcido told the newspaper via text: “Based on the many hateful, vulgar, and violent threats being made against me and my family, my priority is the emotional and physical health of my wife and son.”

The story is causing a lot of controversy locally, and Friday classes at El Rancho High School have been cancelled.

Even White House Chief of Staff John Kelly has weighed in: ““I think the guy ought to go to hell. I just hope he enjoys the liberties and the lifestyle that we have fought for,” Kelly said this week during a Fox News radio interview.
