Last year, bilingual alternative L.A.-based band The Mexican Standoff did one of the coolest tributes to Benjamín Ramírez, the city’s elotero hero. Now the band is back with another song and video—this time it’s a a critique to Trump’s wall.

Here is “Muro” (The Wall).

We promise that in a few minutes you will be singing the lyrics:

When I was a little morrito
We moved to Los Angelitos
After three days of walking
with lots of hopes and sueñitos

Mi mami trabajaba duro
To feed me and my hermanitos
Didn’t speak any English
It was hard to make amigos

I was good in school, I never missed a day
Played a lot of sports, got a lot of A’s
Wanted to be a doctor someday
They say I can’t cause I’m illegal

Muro, Muro
I was born south of the Muro
Muro
I grew up north of the Muro

Obama el ex presidente
deportó a muchos amigos
but right before he left us
he passed a bill to save us

But now the presidente
who’s name we don’t want to mention
wants to take away
our hard work and dedication

I get up at six, I head off to school
and then go to work, and do it again
wanted to be a doctor someday
They say I can’t ‘cause I’m a dreamer

Muro
I was born south of the Muro
Muro, Muro
I grew up north of the muro
Muro, Muro
I was born south of the Muro
Muro,
I grew up north of the muro

The socially conscious band has both “Muro” and ““El Corrido de Benjamín Ramírez” on its Spotify channel. As it states on it’s YouTube:

“Muro” is the narrative of one of eight hundred thousand stories. Today´s president is making a lot of noise about building a border wall when there are around 344 miles of wall built already. Politics are out of control, and as musicians and story tellers we want to bring some humor and music to today´s issues. We hope to bring people together in these days where America is divided. We support dreamers. We support immigration. We support equality.
