Chris Matthews Has No Problem Saying ‘Illegal People’ on MSNBC

The continued dehumanization of immigrant communities by American news media continues (as if that would surprise you). The latest example? MSNBC’s Chris Matthews having no problem saying “illegal people” on air during a pre-State of the Union conversation about President Trump.

It all happened when Matthews was talking with author Tony Schwartz. As Schwartz was talking about how Trump is the most aggrieved person in the world, Matthews said this: “What is he aggrieved about? His hiring of people? Just this week he decided to stop hiring illegal people.”

And Schwartz went along with it.

This is “progressive” MSNBC?

As expected, this one is problematic:

So much so that Hugo Balta, president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, has already weighed in:

But hey, we know, this is Matthews we are talking about. The one obsessed with the “two Cuban guys.” Or the one who has NO CLUE about Latino voters.
