Here is a video from Univision where Chris Barker, a member of the Ku Klux Klan, insults Univision anchor Ilia Calderón with racial slurs.

The Noticiero Univision Edición Nocturna team went to Yanceyville, North Carolina, on July 24 to interview Barker and other members of the Loyal White Knights, a chapter of the KKK. The interview turned tense as Barker hurled racial slurs at Calderón, who is Afro-Colombian.

“To me you are an [N-word]. That’s it,” Barker told Calderón.

“At that moment, I felt scared and unsafe,” Calderón said in the video.

She explained that prior to the interview, she had prepared herself to face insults and possible tensions.

“I knew they were going to disrespect me but I never imagined the level [of disrespect],” Calderón said.

Univision vice president of news María Martínez Guzmán explained that Calderón stayed in the car as the team was filming inside Barker’s house.

“I have never seen someone looking at a person [Calderón] with so much hate and resentment,” Guzmán said.

Univision plans to broadcast the interview on Sunday, August 20.
