This is an actual political ad. Not parody. Not a joke. An actual political ad.
It comes from Florida, and it is for the gubernatorial campaign of Republican Ron DeSantis. Trying to get his point that DeSantis is all in for Donald Trump’s agenda, one part of the video shows DeSantis (wait for it) showing his real two-year-old daughter how to build a border wall.
FYI, DeSantis is easily leading all Republican primary polls right now, but if DeSantis were to win the GOP nomination (very likely) and if Democrat Gwen Graham were to win the Democratic primary (also likely), recent polls show Graham defeating DeSantis in a head-to-head.
So there is no wonder why DeSantis wants to ride the Trump Train.
And yeah, this is the same DeSantis who completely disrespected Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (who is running in New York and not in Florida) last week, when he said, “You look at this girl, Ocasia-Cortez or whatever she is, I mean, she’s in a totally different universe.”
Those comments led to this response by Oscasio-Cortez:
Rep DeSantis, it seems you‘re confused as to “whatever I am.”
I am a Puerto Rican woman. It‘s strange you don’t know what that is, given that ~75,000 Puerto Ricans have relocated to Florida in the 10 mos since María.
But I’m sure these new FL voters appreciate your comments! https://t.co/xJlroSe5Hs
