Undocumented and Asian: ‘Am I Really a Human Being in This Country?’

A new powerful video series from award-winning journalist Maria Hinojosa, which premiered today at NBCNews.com, looks into a topic the media has tended to ignored: what it’s like to be undocumented and Asian. As part of a new Humanizing America web series, Hinojosa visited Flushing, Queens, to talk to a mother and her son.

Every time I read about in the election in the newspapers, I wonder, “Am I really a human being in this country?” I’m being treated worse than some animals. —Myung Soon Cho
